Job description

Enjoy being active and passionate about making a difference to others? Then we have just the role for you!

Based in Clydebank, our Fabulous #TeamAilsa are on the lookout for a reliable, patient and upbeat female colleague with a calm nature to join them as a Support Practitioner.

The Role

Through tailored care plans, our friendly team supports 4 ladies with various learning disabilities to live in their own home where they can achieve their individual goals and live their best life. This role involves supporting people in their day-to-day lives, including housework, personal care, making meals, and attending appointments. As a Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to be flexible in your approach and be able to follow guidelines.

There’s never a dull moment here as the ladies enjoy an active and social life, from knitting to dance classes and going to the theatre. Another favorite of their pastimes is going out and about in their cars for day trips; the ladies particularly enjoy going to Largs, Loch Lomond, and Oban as well as runs around the local area.

As the ladies have their own mobility cars, it is essential you hold a full UK, manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 year of experience driving.

About You

You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills and will give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. We'll even put you through your SVQ qualification too!

All we’ll need you to bring is;

  • Full UK driving licence
  • A caring and compassionate attitude.
  • The ability to work well in a team.
  • Great communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Confidence in the use of technology.

Shift Pattern

Our team is dedicated to providing tailored care 24/7 to the ladies they support and includes mornings, afternoons, and late evenings.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

Have any questions? If you'd like to find out more, please contact Jennifer McIntyre on 07814068914.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.

*For this position, female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

Due to this role being live over the Christmas period, successful candidates will be contacted at the start of January 2025 and invited forward for interview at our base in Renton.
