Our amazing #TeamGlebe in Cowdenbeath are on the lookout for a new colleague to join them as a Support Practitioners on a 25 hours per week, permanent basis.

Our team and the people you'll support

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team who provide support to two amazing gentlemen within their shared home. Your main aim will be supporting their day to day personal needs, including meal planning, cooking, housework, shopping, personal care and medication.

As both men enjoy an active social life within the local community, we would be looking for you to be enthusiastic about participating and supporting them with their hobbies and interests including going out for meals and to cafes, clothes shopping, discos, swimming, walks and going on the bus for a day trip.

About you

You don't need experience as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills that you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

As the gentlemen both have their own mobility cars, we are ideally looking for someone who has a full UK driving license with at least 1 year of experience on the roads, however this isn't a dealbreaker for the right candidate.

What we need you to bring:-

  • An understanding of the important of following guidelines and routines
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Confidence in the use of computers
  • The ability to cook
  • Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provide 24/7 care tailored to the needs of the gentlemen they support, shifts are varied and will include early mornings, days and evenings. Weekends and sleepovers will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

The sleepover part of your shift does not form part of your contracted hours, you will receive an additional £100.80 payment for each sleepover that you work!
