Job description

We're recruiting across Clydebank!! We have some great opportunities for creative and enthusiastic, person-centred individuals to join our fabulous #TeamWestDunCSas Support Practitioners. We have part-time contracts (up to 25 hours) available along with relief opportunities if you are looking for something a bit more flexible.

The Role

You'll become part of one of our fun, friendly and dedicated teams who provide support to individuals with various support needs within their own homes. There's never a dull moment; every day is different!

As a Support Practitioner, you'll support and assist the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication, and managing personal finances. We're also looking for you to be enthusiastic and creative when supporting with their hobbies, which include karaoke, arts and crafts, live music, going for walks, and shopping, along with many more activities. The people we support enjoy comics and art and also enjoy going swimming, so while being a confident swimmer is beneficial, it's not essential.

What we'll need you to bring:

  • A caring attitude
  • A positive approach to learning
  • An understanding of the importance of routines and following guidelines
  • Confidence in the use of computers

You don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and SSSC yearly registration fees too!

Shift Patterns

We offer support 7 days a week, usually between 9 am and 6 pm, although there are a few earlier/later supports. You may be supporting more than one person in a day or could have a longer day with one person.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today; we can't wait to hear from you.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview at the Carman Centre in Renton.

Have any questions? If you'd like to find out more, please contact Dean Braddick or Fiona Gregory on 01389 750 403.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note: If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
