Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, young people, and families? At Churches of Christ, we are seeking a dedicated Family Support Practitioner to join our Children, Youth & Families team in Daisy Hill.

What You’ll Do :

  • Comprehensive Assessments : Conduct thorough assessments of children, young people, and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
  • Individualized Care Planning : Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Crisis Intervention : Provide timely support during crises to ensure safety and stability.
  • Advocacy : Advocate for clients to access necessary resources and services.
  • Skill Development : Facilitate evidence-based parenting programs and workshops.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate care.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Cultural Sensitivity : Ensure services are culturally safe and inclusive, respecting the diverse backgrounds of clients.

What You’ll Need :

  • Relevant Qualifications : Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience : Demonstrated experience in child protection, family support, or community services.
  • Knowledge : Understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care frameworks.
  • Skills : Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural Competence : Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Possess a current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or the ability to obtain.
