Job summary

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is seeking a part-time Support Practitioner to assist service users in Dumfries and surrounding areas. Training will be provided, including a funded SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. A UK manual driving licence is required though access to your own car is not mandatory.

The post involves 30 hours per week, mainly night shifts (8pm–8am) across 7 days. Previous epilepsy-related experience is desirable.

• No previous care experience required; we recruit on values and transferrable skills.
• UK Driving Licence for manual vehicles required (access to own car not needed).
• Fully funded SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to live independently at home.
• Provide medication support, personal care, and domestic tasks.
• Offer social support and accompany to hobbies/events.
• Support with meal preparation and general housekeeping.

One of our services in Dumfries are currently recruiting for Support Practitioners!

You do not need previous experience in Care to apply as we recruit on values and transferrable skills.

We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care!

However, for these posts we are only able to consider applicants who have a UK Driving Licence for manual vehicles. Access to your own car is not required.

This is a part time post consisting of 30hrs per week worked normally as 3 shifts over 7 days. The bulk of these shifts will be 8pm to 8am so ability to commit to waking nights is essential.

Preferably we would be looking for someone with previous experience of working with epilepsy and rescue medication.

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalised and outcome-focused support to over 2800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland, making us the country's largest provider of social care. We support individuals with a variety of different needs such as physical and/or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health issues, alcohol or substance abuse and autism.

The Role:

As a Support Practitioner, you will support individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

This can include assistance with medication, general housework, meal preparation and personal care.

You would also provide social support within the service, accompanying individuals to any hobbies/events that they have on and participating in hobbies at home!
