We have varying hours availiable from relief up to full time (39 hours)
The Role
You will be joining a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to ten individuals within a twenty-four-hour housing support service in Bridgeton. The people we support have learning disabilities and other complex health and support needs; some of the people we support are registered blind and some use a wheelchair.
With a focus on maintaining and promoting independence, as a Support Practitioner, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, cooking and helping them to take care of their home. You’ll provide emotional support and companionship, and you’ll help the people we support to pursue their hobbies and interests, such as going to the gym, horse riding, arts and crafts and knitting.
About You
We are looking for people with a real passion to build relationships and positively impact the lives of the people we support. So, whilst it would be beneficial if you have experience in a similar role, this is not essential. What’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values and attitude to make a difference. You’ll receive all the training and support you need through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete a fully funded SVQ qualification.

Shift Patterns
Our team provides support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, following a four-week rolling rota. Typical shifts are a variation of 8am start sleepover shifts, 8am-10pm. 8am-7pm, 8am-3pm, and 7am-10pm depending on who you are supporting. If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to work a combination of longer and shorter day shifts and sleepovers.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
