East Renfrewshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Support Officer to join our planning team. You will be involved in providing administrative support to the development management function, including:

  1. Arranging neighbour notifications and consultations
  2. Sending out acknowledgements
  3. Managing the general planning mailbox
  4. Issuing planning decisions

You will assist customers in person, in writing, and on the phone with general administrative enquiries.

The role requires technical and IT skills, preferably including experience with the IDOX/UNIform case handling system. The post holder will also need good organisational skills, as the job involves carrying out various administrative tasks to support the Council's statutory planning functions.

Depending on the needs of the service, staff in hybrid roles will typically work from home up to 40-60% of the time, where service requirements are met.
