An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cardiology Medical Support Secretary to join the administrative team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. The role involves providing crucial administrative support within a fast-paced environment, managing clinical responsibilities, and ensuring high standards of patient care while working across two hospital sites.
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role; however, UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. You must also have at least six months remaining until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced medical secretary to join our team as a Cardiology Medical Support Secretary within the Heart Centre.
You will work alongside the existing administrative team to provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial support. You will need to be a highly motivated and flexible team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise your workload is essential. We are looking for a secretary with high standards and an eye for detail. You must have the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever-changing environment.
This position is 18.75 hours per week, working Wednesday to Friday.
If you obtained your qualifications overseas, you will be required to provide an official government translation through ECCTIS (formerly NARIC). Please note, this is in addition to any professional registration requirements and not a replacement for your qualifications.
If you are currently in the UK on a visa, you must have at least six months remaining on your visa at the time of application to ensure sufficient time for the recruitment and training process associated with the role.
The post holder will need to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability, and an organised approach to work. Working as part of a team of Medical Secretaries, you will support the management of waiting lists, typing of clinical letters, theatre scheduling, clinic utilisation, along with daily office duties as required by the clinical team.
The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to support the patient pathway.
The post will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital but may require cross-site working, and there may be a need for the post holder to travel between Royal Stoke University Hospital (Stoke-on-Trent) and the County Hospital (Stafford) sites.
