We are looking for a new Support Housing Advisor to join our incredible team! The role is to identify support that our tenants may need (general needs / sheltered tenants or any other customer as appropriate) to improve and support them in their own homes, in line with our supported strategy. This may be by assessing needs, creating support plans and referring and signposting to internal and external services as required or simply signposting or administering financial support as part of our support fund policy.

We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Most of our vacancies offer options around home and office flexible working, as well as a generous annual leave allowance and other benefits.

Requirements

Outline of Key Responsibilities...

  • Provide support and advice to tenants and customers as necessary across all contact channels, forging links with external statutory and voluntary agencies to access services to preserve independent living e.g. Meals on Wheels, home care, etc and ensure communications are documented
  • Complete support plans / PEEPs and review at agreed timescales, including early review if there is a significant event which indicates it is necessary. Ensure this information is recorded appropriately and shared with the tenant/ customer
  • Carry out fire safety or other checks and ensure tenants are fully aware of all procedures in the event of a fire
  • To be a presence at schemes (general needs and independent living) on a peripatetic basis to promote and support independence, signposting and referring for additional support as required
  • Respond to emergency calls/enquiries when on duty, escalating accordingly and notifying next of kin as necessary

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Experience of working in support services either with a voluntary or statutory organisation
  • Knowledge of physical, psychological and social needs and how these can be supported
  • Familiar with Microsoft resources and ability to learn internal systems
  • Confidence to tackle difficult emotive situations
  • Awareness of social services and other agencies
  • An understanding of Safeguarding responsibilities
  • Current Driving Licence and access to own vehicle

In return, we are offering...

  • An annual salary of £28,595.45 plus a car allowance of £1,545 per annum
  • We are committed to providing a healthy work-life balance for employees and their families, as such we operate full hybrid working conditions from home and our office in Bury St Edmunds
  • Flexible working around a 37 hour week
  • Annual Leave - 28 days per year, (plus bank holidays) increasing to 32 days when you reach your 3rd year with us. To give greater flexibility around your holidays you can also buy, sell or carry over up to 5 days of annual leave each year
  • Pension - between 7% - 12% dependant on individual contribution
  • Life assurance - a payment of X3 your salary.
  • Annual Flu Jab - provided each winter to all employees.
  • Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice scheme - plus we currently have free electric charging points
  • Competitive medical cashback plan
