Qualifications

As our Support Coordinator, you'll provide the support needed for customers to develop skills for independent living. Our service offers accommodation to customers aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Typical day as a Support Coordinator

  • Work with a team of Support Coordinators to deliver high-quality service meeting or exceeding Home Group KPIs and OFSTED standards.
  • Support and supervise customers to develop independence and reach their goals, under the guidance of your Senior Client Service Manager and Senior Support Coordinator.
  • Assist customers with varied needs, including mental health, housing-related support, complex needs, and responding to challenging behaviour.
  • Create and update support plans and risk assessments, helping customers with daily activities like cooking, shopping, budgeting, maintaining tenancy, and moving to independent accommodation.
  • Ensure properties are well maintained, clean, and homely to minimize voids and provide a pleasant living environment.
  • Engage in casual chats and catch-ups, with ample time for collaboration with colleagues.

You have

  • Experience creating person-centred support plans, risk assessments, and reviews.
  • Experience coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
  • The ability to work independently, stay calm under pressure, and be resilient.
  • Confidence to challenge behaviours misaligned with our values.
  • Understanding of our customers' life stages and a passion to advocate for them; experience in housing or care support is desirable.

Job details

  • The service operates 24/7. You will work on a 4-week rolling rota, including weekends and bank holidays, without night shifts.
  • Flexible hours may be required to meet customer needs. We aim to accommodate your work/life balance requests.
  • Some shifts may involve lone working, especially mornings and late shifts.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
  • Ability to use technology for support plans, online learning, and collaboration.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required, and we cover the cost.
