Support Coordinator (16/695)

Location: Castle Douglas

Salary: £20,810 - £22,200

The Learning Disability Service provided by Dumfries and Galloway's Health & Social Care Partnership supports young people and adults with various needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions.

The Rowans Respite units offer short-stay care and support to adults. As a Support Coordinator, you will be part of a team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered services, prioritizing Health & Social Care Standards. You will serve as a Key Worker, coordinating care within individuals' homes and facilitating access to community-based activities that promote skills development, independence, health, wellbeing, and participation in adult learning and work-related activities.

Reporting to a Senior Support Coordinator, your responsibilities include providing direct care and support, contributing to personal planning and reviews, participating in team meetings, and maintaining electronic records. You will also support and supervise Link Workers.

This role involves working 24 hours per week over 52.14 weeks annually. Some evening, weekend, and sleep-in shifts may be required. We offer flexible working patterns, including weekend on/off arrangements, to support work/life balance.

Applicants must hold a qualification at SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (Band 7). If you do not possess this qualification but meet other essential criteria, you may be eligible for an entry-level Band 6 position (£15.52/hour) while completing the required qualification. Ongoing supervision and professional development opportunities are provided.

Experience working with people with additional support needs, such as disabilities, older adults, or mental health conditions, is required. You should be a team player, committed to enabling people to lead fulfilling lives and supporting service improvements. Basic computer skills are desirable but training can be provided.

A current driving license is essential; however, alternative arrangements will be considered if a disability prevents holding a license.

This position is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including access to discounts via the Vivup platform, local business discounts, a Cycle-to-Work scheme, financial advice, and wellbeing support.
