Support Assistant

Shaftesbury Court, Manor Close, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 9HN

£13.27 per hour

25 Hour per week contracts available

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Learning and Physical Disabilities Service at Shaftesbury Court in Trowbridge, where we provide housing and care support to adults 18-65.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

  1. Providing a high-quality, hands-on support service
  2. Encouraging customers to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being a part of their community
  3. Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers to build their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  4. Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the customers and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  5. Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices

Skills and experiences:
  1. A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
  2. Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
  3. Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families, and internal and external agencies
  4. Experience of working as a member of a team
  5. A positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
  6. Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
