The role of Support Assistant will include:
- Providing a high quality, hands-on support service
- Supporting customers to build the confidence they need to gain further independence
- Encouraging customers to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and being part of their community
- Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers
- Maintaining a safe environment for clients, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices
Skills and experiences:
- Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable adults, however candidates with a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- Experience working as part of a team is essential
- You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
- A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening, and time management skills
- Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C in English and Mathematics, is essential
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable
