About the role:
We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Individuals to join our team as a Support and Resettlement Assistant.
We have 1 x Permanent Part Time (22 hour) post available within the service .
The Emergency Accommodation Support Team sits within the wider Homelessness Assessment, Prevention and Support Service (HAPSS). This service provides support all households placed into emergency accommodation.
As a Support and Resettlement Assistant you will be responsible for providing practical housing and tenancy related support to individuals and households residing in various types of interim accommodation. This also includes tasks linked to ensuring a safe living environment is maintained in accommodation provided. Your daily routine will be varied depending on the placement and support needs of households residing in accommodation. The role involves regular travel across the Borough of Neath Port Talbot, and further afield to different Local Authority areas. You will be part of a dynamic team of staff, who have a host of experience, skills and knowledge, and work in partnership with a wide range of internal and external services to provide relevant support to our service users. The work is fast paced, varied and rewarding. In what can be a challenging and reactive service, you will be trusted to use your initiative while being supported through regular supervision and strong team working.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a tenancy support setting, advice service or social care role, and a working knowledge of the various issues and problems encountered by homeless households, including an understanding of how to support individuals and families to overcome these issues and access support. You will also need to have the required level of IT skills.
Ideally you will have; a minimum of 4 GCSE’s Grades A-C.
