Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Supply Teachers to work in schools across Wigan. The role covers all classes from Reception to KS5 with strong behaviour management and a passion for teaching.

We support both newly qualified and experienced teachers, with contracts ranging from day-to-day to longer-term cover. Locations include various sites in and around Wigan; shifts can be part-time or full-time depending on school need.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS/PGCE/PGDE or EYFS or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a UK school.
• Safeguarding training updated within the last year (desirable; training provided).

Responsibilities

• Cover all classes from Reception through KS5 with strong behaviour management.
• Day-to-day and longer-term supply cover across multiple schools.
• Register and complete safeguarding/vetting checks via Prospero Teaching as required.

Supply Teacher

Prospero Teaching is looking for Supply Teachers to work in schools across Wigan.

Acting as a work-finding service, we provide supply cover to a range of Primary, Secondary and SEND Schools; from small village schools to large secondary schools. We are looking for Teachers to cover all classes from Reception through to KS5 and who have strong behaviour management skills and are passionate about teaching.

Prospero Teaching work with both newly qualified Teachers and experienced Teachers by helping you find your next position. Some contracts may be extended from day-to-day bookings to longer term cover.

• Location - Various locations across Wigan
• Position - Supply Teacher
• Type of work - Pre-planned absence cover - day to day and long-term cover in various schools
• Start date - September 2026
• Duration / Likely Duration - Day to day bookings, with the potential for extension depending on schools
• End date (if applicable) - N/A
• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on schools needs
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 140 per day - Rate negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications
• Hours - 8:30 am - 3pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover. Start and end time can vary from school to school

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, PGDE, EYFS or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references that cover the last two years, notwithstanding referencing any appropriate child-related work experience
• Appropriate CV history
