Job summary

Horizon Teachers is seeking qualified primary teachers for day-to-day and short-term supply work across Harrow and surrounding North West London boroughs. You can choose full-time weekly work or one or two days to fit around other commitments, with the week built around your availability.

Roles cover EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in a range of schools. We offer flexibility, weekly pay, safeguarding training and support from a dedicated consultant who briefs you before placements.

Qualifications

• QTS (essential) and experience in a UK primary setting.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management.
• Willingness to adapt to new settings and maintain high standards.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• Two satisfactory references and the right to work in the UK.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Horizon Teachers is looking for qualified primary teachers for day-to-day and short-term supply work across Harrow and the surrounding North West London boroughs. We work with a wide range of primary schools — from one-form entry schools to large multi-form primaries — covering EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Whether you want full-time work every week or one or two days to fit around other commitments, we build the week around your availability.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Maintaining the class teacher's routines, expectations and behaviour systems.
• Marking and feedback in line with the school's policy.
• Working alongside teaching assistants and support staff.
• Leaving a clear handover for the class teacher at the end of the day.
• Following the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — essential.
• Experience of teaching or placements in a UK primary setting.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management.
• Adaptable, reliable and comfortable walking into a new setting.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• Two satisfactory references covering the last two years, and the right to work in the UK.

Supply is one of the fastest ways to build classroom hours, see how different schools run, and work out which year group and setting suits you before committing to a permanent post. Day-to-day supply does not count towards statutory induction, but placements of a term or longer can — we will flag those to you as they come up, and we are happy to put you forward for permanent ECT roles alongside your supply work.
