Required Qualifications & Skills:

The following qualifications are essential:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Relevant experience with children in the UK with 2 professional references
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Proof of address (recent within 3 months)
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Overseas Police Check if applicable (if you've been outside the UK for more than 6 months in the past 5 years)

Day-to-day duties:

• Supervising pupils and ensuring engagement in classwork
• Encouraging interaction among pupils
• Helping pupils become more independent in learning
• Establishing trust and interacting according to individual needs
• Assisting with tasks as needed
• Creating a safe and positive classroom environment
• Promoting good behavior and managing conflicts
• Collecting and returning completed work
• Supervising pupils before and after school and during breaks
• Providing feedback on pupil achievement and progress

Ideally, you will have:

• Basic understanding of the national Key Stage Curriculum
• Knowledge of child development and learning
• Skills for self-evaluation and continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to cover various lessons confidently
• Capability to manage a class of mixed-ability pupils
• Focus and ability to keep students on task
• Constructive feedback skills to promote positive self-esteem
• Dedication to building positive relationships with pupils
• Empathy and understanding for sensitive issues
