Purpose of the Role:

This role primarily involves managing governance assurance for Diageo's Supply Chain and Procurement functions. Responsibilities include codifying processes, developing risk performance standards, and enhancing market/site scorecard targets. The role supports the implementation of the Global Assurance Strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal standards, and maintaining good business practices. The Global Assurance Specialist with a focus on Global Capability Uplift will prioritize markets/functions with the greatest need, as directed by the Global Governance Assurance Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Establish assurance strategies for global standards including H&S, Quality & Environment, Security, and BCM, leading key improvement programs.
  • Manage compliance with GRMS, oversee audit schedules, results, KPIs, and assurance processes including ISO/GFSI standards.
  • Standardize and oversee the implementation of governance frameworks across various Diageo standards and programs.
  • Develop and manage the Global Audit Management System (Enablon AMS), acting as a superuser and key vendor contact.
  • Identify risks related to H&S, Quality, and Environment through audit outputs and market risk assessments, supporting mitigation efforts.
  • Set governance assurance frameworks for suppliers and TPO, oversee ISO certification processes globally.
  • Lead the development of annual and multi-year roadmaps for markets, focusing on capability development and maturity improvement, especially in developing markets.
  • Mentor internal teams on risk and assurance, aligning efforts across wider activities such as GAR, CARM, and Customs.
  • Promote awareness and embed risk assurance practices across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage relationships with external bodies, authorities, and partners to ensure compliance and best practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in project management and cross-functional teamwork.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, with a track record of implementing change programs.
  • Degree in a governance or science-related field, or relevant experience with strong knowledge of supply chain standards and legislation.
