Job Description:
We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our Planning team as a Supply Planner, within the Supply Chain department at Innospec on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The purpose of the role is to balance supply with demand for a specific portfolio of assets, ensuring customer service while optimizing site capacity and inventory. The role involves reviewing demand and supply over the 0-3 month horizon.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing 3-month production plans
- Signing off short-term production plans with manufacturing
- Calling off raw materials to meet production schedules
- Ensuring safety stock settings are correct and adhered to
- Planning production campaigns to balance customer service, costs, and inventory
Main duties:
Balancing 0–3-month Supply plans
- Maintaining supply plans (0-3 months) to meet demand
- Replenishing stock via purchase orders, internal movements, and production planning using ERP systems
- Communicating with suppliers to monitor plan conformance and resolving shortfalls
- Collaborating with Supply Chain, Product Managers, and Purchasing on new product commercialization
- Communicating with Customer Service and Logistics on product availability and alternative options
- Monitoring production vs actual output and resolving capacity or demand issues
- Ensuring compliance with safety and customs regulations for third-party manufacturers
S&OP Process
- Participating in Pre S&OP and Site ROP teams
- Preparing reports for regional S&OP and analyzing issues
Inventory Management
- Adjusting inventory settings based on demand and risk
- Reviewing and adjusting safety stocks periodically
- Reconciliation of stock in line with SoX compliance
- Managing aged and damaged stock
- Coordinating audits and stock checks as needed
Master Data Management
- Maintaining planning data in SAP (safety stocks, inventory, capacity)
- Ensuring data accuracy for effective planning
Cost Savings and Projects
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities
- Supporting additional projects within the team and business
Minimum qualifications and qualities include:
- Supply planning experience, including MRPII and supplier scheduling
- Exposure to Sales and Operations Planning
- Beneficial SAP experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and clear communication skills
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Initiative in problem-solving and decision-making
