Job summary

Howdens is seeking a Supply Planner for a 12-month fixed-term contract to keep our finished goods stocked across a nationwide depot network. The role collaborates with Planning Managers and cross-functional teams to balance inventory, service levels and costs.

You will join a 35-strong Supply Chain and Logistics team, with opportunities to work across a diverse supplier base and occasional travel as required. A proactive, analytical mindset and strong IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working with data and IT systems, ideally including SAP/APO or similar planning tools.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing inventory and supply plans for finished goods across a large product portfolio.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable product availability.
• Monitoring sales demand and responding to changing business requirements.
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to balance service, stock and cost objectives.
• Identifying opportunities to improve supply chain performance and supplier flexibility.
• Supporting business growth by maintaining inventory levels across a complex and fast-moving supply network.
