Job summary

Storal Sheffield Nursery is seeking qualified Early Years Educators to cover casual, flexible shifts at Children 1st Sheffield Nursery School, Scotland Street, Sheffield S3 7BS. Salary £12.90–£13.30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Must hold a Level 2 or above in Early Years childcare.

Roles are Monday to Friday, with full-time and part-time options. You’ll support with holiday, sickness, or vacancy cover, starting each day with a prepared plan that may adapt as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Level 2 or above qualification within early years.
  • Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or with children under 5 is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cover for children as needed (holidays, sickness, vacancies).
  • Support for full days, mornings or afternoons, starting with a prepared plan that may evolve with circumstances.

How you’ll spend your time here

You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session. You'll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan. That will soon get completely derailed though... Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!

Must hold a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you're looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural, nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

What you'll need
  • A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment.   • Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous

  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable
