The Opportunity
An established international consumer healthcare business is seeking a Supply Planner to join its growing supply chain team. This is a high-profile role offering exposure across a global supply network and significant scope for development beyond traditional supply planning responsibilities.
Working closely with manufacturing partners, commercial teams and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in balancing supply and demand, driving service levels, optimising inventory and supporting the end-to-end S&OP process. The role has the potential to expand into broader global planning and supply chain leadership responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
- Manage end-to-end supply planning activities across a network of external manufacturing partners.
- Ensure product availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor stock ageing and shelf-life to minimise obsolescence and write-offs.
- Manage replenishment planning and execute MRP activities.
Supplier & Manufacturing Management
- Build strong relationships with contract manufacturing partners.
- Secure production capacity and manage supplier lead times.
- Drive supplier performance through KPI reviews and service-level monitoring.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply network.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Lead supply planning reviews within the S&OP cycle.
- Validate demand assumptions and assess risks, opportunities and product lifecycle changes.
- Support capacity planning and rough-cut capacity planning activities.
- Develop short, medium and long-term supply plans to meet business requirements.
Systems & Data Management
- Maintain planning parameters including lead times, safety stock and ordering policies.
- Ensure planning master data remains accurate and fit for purpose.
- Utilise ERP and advanced planning systems to support decision-making and supply visibility.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.
- Proven experience within Supply Planning, Production Planning or MRP environments.
- Background in FMCG, Consumer Health, Pharmaceutical or similarly fast-paced sectors.
- Strong track record of inventory optimisation while maintaining high service levels.
- Experience managing supply through third-party manufacturing networks.
Highly Desirable
- Strong S&OP experience from a supply planning perspective.
- APICS, CSCP, CIPS or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong Excel and analytical capability.
- Experience using advanced planning systems.
