Job summary

Benjamin Edwards is seeking a proactive Supply Chain & Procurement Planner to join our operations near Skegness. You will manage purchasing, stock control, production planning and supplier relationships to keep material flow smooth and costs under control.

Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will collaborate with suppliers, production teams and internal departments to ensure the right materials are available at the right time and price.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain coordination, inventory management or production planning.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Confidence working with suppliers, negotiating costs and resolving supply issues.
• A good understanding of stock control, forecasting and material requirements.
• Strong IT skills and experience using CRM or inventory management systems.
• An analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail, accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across a business

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Supplier Management: Manage purchasing activities, negotiate with suppliers, monitor performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
• Stock & Inventory Control: Maintain optimum stock levels, monitor demand and ensure accurate inventory records while minimising shortages, waste and excess stock.
• Production Planning: Coordinate material availability against production schedules, adapting plans to meet changing business requirements.
• Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee the movement of materials and finished goods, working closely with suppliers, warehouse teams and third‑party logistics providers.
• Systems & Data Management: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), product codes and inventory information, ensuring business systems are used effectively.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor KPIs, identify operational challenges and implement practical improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across Production, Stores, Finance and other departments to keep operations running efficiently.
