Job description

Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 15th July 2026.

Umbrella Pay Rate: GBP27.75 per hour.

Our client's Import and Export Operations / Trading Division is a unique team within the business that has a core function to buy products around the world in support of our client's global manufacturing activities. The Trading Division Export Sales Centres (ESC) in regions such as China and India enable the business to import Chinese and Indian produced components for use in European manufacturing facilities.

As the Inbound Analyst, you will contribute to the design, management, checking, and analysis of diverse data using various tools at Trading Division Import Operations to support informed decision-making. This role is primarily responsible for managing the transportation of components internationally, ensuring shipping standards, traceability, and delivery assurance to maintain production.

This role involves taking control of all planning and physical logistics operations, managing scheduling, and overseeing the supply chain for Shipping and Import.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Support origin teams in preparing loads for dispatch to client’s bonded warehouses in the UK.
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to schedule release, shipping, and export standards, including engineering and launch operations.
  • Maintain clear processes for shipments, replacement parts, and scheduling adjustments.
  • Assist with SAP system change requests to optimize processes.
  • Monitor, control, and report component stocks and shipping status in line with schedule parameters; escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage pre-production volume requirements, part runouts, and new parts for model year and running change requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and stock control to ensure data integrity for schedule planning.
  • Coordinate with outbound customers and freight forwarders to optimize container utilization and monitor dock adherence.
  • Collaborate with support departments (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain) to ensure timely fulfillment of requirements.
  • Work with receiving locations to agree on dock slots and monitor on-time collections.
  • Support the outbound premium freight process.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to maintain optimal stock levels for production when parts issues arise.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Line Manager related to the job.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Ability to understand and challenge logistics processes swiftly.
  • ERP systems knowledge (SAP / CMMS3 or equivalent).
  • Experience in process mapping and design.
  • Advanced analytical and MS Excel skills.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to demonstrate benefit contribution.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Material Planning / Logistics, preferably in Motor Manufacturing / FMCG or Supply Industry.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Production Methods.
  • Good problem-solving techniques and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical skills in data control and understanding of production processes.
