Job description

Our Supply Chain Planning team are now looking for a Supply Chain Planning Assistant Manager to join them in the RTV Packing and Admin department at our Thatcham Distribution Centre (TVDC).

About The Role

This role will see you leading both the RTV Packing and RTV Admin teams, ensuring the smooth and efficient process of exiting unwanted stock from the business. You will work closely with buying, merchandising, imports and external suppliers to manage the full lifecycle of returns, from receiving and packing through to dispatch and collection.

You will be based on site, overseeing two Team Leaders and a combined team of around 11 colleagues. The role involves both operational and administrative oversight, from monitoring upcoming returns and ensuring quality checks are met, to preparing reports and identifying process improvements. You will also attend regular management meetings and take part in projects that contribute to the overall Supply Chain strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing Team Leaders, Administrators and Operatives to meet objectives.
  • Liaising with internal departments and suppliers to coordinate timely returns.
  • Overseeing the receipt, packing and dispatch of returns, ensuring adherence to vendor requirements.
  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives and maintaining Health and Safety standards.
  • Monitoring delivery errors and resolving issues with stakeholders.
  • Preparing and presenting reports for weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews.

Core working hours are Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm, with flexibility required to meet business needs.

As part of the team at Thatcham, you will also benefit from a heavily subsidised canteen offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and all-day snacks, local recognition schemes with £25 prizes, exclusive giveaways, and staff trips to our Knightsbridge store. In addition, Harrods offers a range of company-wide benefits including up to 33% Harrods staff discount, subsidised medical and dental cover, discounted gym membership and more.

About You

You will bring strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the returns process. You are confident leading teams, developing talent and creating a collaborative environment where colleagues are engaged and motivated. Your attention to detail will ensure that all returns are processed efficiently and in line with business requirements.

Experience within Harrods’ Supply Chain, particularly in stock movement or warehouse operations, would be beneficial. You will have the confidence to make decisions, solve problems and adapt plans, when necessary, always keeping the overall strategy in mind. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering results through people, this is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career.
