On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Supply Chain Officer (grade HEO) (Inside IR35) for a contract until September 2027 based hybrid in Corsham, Wiltshire. We support teams working in HR, Primary Health Care, Corporate Services, and many others.Role Profile:Defence Digital provides the critical digital and technology services that enable the UK's Armed Forces to operate securely and effectively across radio, satellite, and internet-based communications.Supply Chain Officer will support the SATCOM Programme within Strategic Command. This role will play a key part in operational Supply Chain Management activities, ensuring robust inventory, supplier, demand, and performance management across a complex defence environment.Reporting to the Assistant Head of Logistics, you will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) providers to ensure efficient and compliant supply chain operations that support critical defence capabilities.As a Supply Chain Officer (Grade HEO), your main responsibilities will be:PLEASE NOTE: Active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.* Support operational Supply Chain Management activities across Inventory Management, Supplier Management, Demand Management, and Performance Management.* Review existing supply chain processes and identify opportunities for improvement, implementing new processes and recommendations where appropriate.* Analyse supply chain and inventory data using advanced Excel skills to understand consumption trends, stock levels, obsolescence risks, and upstream supply risks.* Work with Project Managers and stakeholders to assess operational impacts and develop mitigation strategies.* Support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) transition activities to ensure successful entry into service, including MOD system setup, management of Certificates of Conformity (CoC), creation and verification of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) loan registers, and completion of codification activities.* Collaborate with Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) vendors to ensure delivery against contractual obligations and key performance indicators.* Manage repair activities and ensure accurate maintenance of CoC and GFE records.* Maintain accurate supply chain data across MOD systems and reporting tools.* Produce quarterly supply chain performance reports for senior management.* Work collaboratively with Finance, ILS teams, Project Managers, Front Line Commands, and suppliers to ensure compliance with supply chain policies and procedures.* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding stock availability, procurement activity, material requirements, and supply chain risks.* Provide assurance and compliance support across supply chain operations.Essential:* Demonstrable experience working within a Defence Supply Chain environment.* Experience delivering supply chain activities within project or programme teams.* Strong understanding of operational supply chain disciplines, including inventory, supplier, demand, and performance management.* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proven experience analysing complex supply chain data and producing meaningful insights.* Ability to review processes, identify improvements, and implement practical solutions.* Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across multiple teams and suppliers.* Ability to work independently while following established governance, processes, and procedures.* A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the confidence to make recommendations and challenge constructively when required.* Active SC Clearance.Desirable:* Experience working within MOD, Defence Digital, or wider government defence environments.* Familiarity with Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) frameworks.* Experience supporting Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) projects.* Knowledge of inventory management systems or similar defence logistics platforms.* Supply Chain Management qualification, including Level 3 SCM Pathway or equivalent.* Ex-military logistics experience.Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.Disability ConfidentAs a member of the Disability Confident Scheme, the MOD guarantees to interview all candidates who have a disability and who meet all the essential criteria for the vacancy.
