Supply Chain Manager

The Regional Supply Chain Manager, will be responsible for overseeing and managing the regional supply chain in Scotland, ensuring productivity and efficiency. They will develop and maintain strategic relationships with key partners and suppliers while effectively managing performance. The role involves ensuring the team procures in an effective and timely manner, delivering excellent service and quality at the best price and value.

About Us
Join a dynamic procurement and supply chain environment that plays a pivotal role in supporting framework and project teams throughout the UK. Led by our Procurement Director, our central procurement team comprises Regional Supply Chain Leads and procurement professionals, including Assistant Buyers, Buyers, and Senior Buyers. We develop procurement strategies and execute day-to-day operations for a variety of contracts spanning rail, civil engineering, environmental, M&E, power & energy, and rail systems.

The Role
As a regional Supply Chain Lead, you’ll be a key member of our central procurement team, primarily dedicated to the Scotland region, reporting to the Procurement & Supply Chain Director. Your expertise in procurement will ensure seamless supply chain management while fostering positive relationships with key partners and suppliers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Obtain and evaluate information to make supplier selections.
  • Set supplier performance targets, monitor and review performance, collate and analyse data, and provide feedback with actionable improvement recommendations to AmcoGiffen, its suppliers, clients, and consultants.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to facilitate resolution of issues related to the company.
  • Contribute to the development of the supply chain to meet medium- and long-term business planning objectives.
  • Forecast category trends and developments that may impact the company and communicate these insights across the business.
  • Support operational teams in tender submissions and projects regarding procurement approach, product specifications, supplier selection, and product costs.
  • Assess the impact of client supply chain preferences and requirements on company activities, making strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain policies with clients and suppliers to foster enduring relationships.
  • Build and maintain honest, respectful, and trustworthy relationships with colleagues.
  • Facilitate introductions of colleagues to established client and supplier relationships in a planned manner.
  • Promote the concept of ‘adding value’ within the procurement team.
  • Lead and report on key supplier meetings.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, deployment, and utilisation of procurement staff.

What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have prior experience as a Supply Chain professional. The ideal candidate will possess:
• Proven experience in procurement, ideally within Rail or Civil Engineering sectors.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proactive approach to securing optimal agreements and cost efficiencies.
• Analytical thinking skills to process data, assess supplier performance, and contribute to procurement strategy.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with proficiency in relevant computer tools and a structured work approach.
• CIPS qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Adaptability and leadership qualities, including the ability to manage and mentor procurement colleagues such as Buyers and Senior Buyers, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
