Job summary

A leading retail company is seeking a Supply Chain Manager in Liverpool to lead key supply chain initiatives. You will manage logistics, identify inefficiencies, and enhance operational performance across multiple supplier networks. The ideal candidate has a strong background in supply chain management, especially in retail or FMCG, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. This is a 6-month on-site contract offering £400/day.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supply chain and logistics, ideally within retail or FMCG.
  • In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics providers, and global shipping processes.
  • Strong experience working with 3PLs, freight partners, and cross-functional supply chain teams.

Are you a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Manager with a deep understanding of freight forwarding, logistics, and end-to-end supply chain operations? Our client, a UK-leading retailer, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead key supply chain initiatives and enhance operational performance across multiple supplier networks. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive impact in a fast-paced, nationally recognised retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supply chain projects with a strong focus on freight forwarding and logistics optimisation
  • Manage and improve the end-to-end supply chain process across suppliers, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify bottlenecks, pain points, and inefficiencies throughout the supply chain
  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics partners to develop, track, and implement resolutions to ongoing issues
  • Deliver project milestones on time and within budget, reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Support transformation efforts across freight, warehousing, and distribution

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in supply chain and logistics, ideally within retail or FMCG
  • In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics providers, and global shipping processes
  • Strong experience working with 3PLs, freight partners, and cross-functional supply chain teams
  • Ability to identify root causes and deliver effective, pragmatic solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management, supplier engagement, and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects outside IR35 desirable
