The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in the UK's & Ireland's Building Services sector. Alternative Heat designs, develops, and delivers a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, & sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
We specialise in the design, supply, & installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, & operate solutions for commercial energy centres & large-scale district heating solutions, with extensive experience in procuring & delivering similar packages to public bodies across UK & Europe.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will manage supplier relationships to ensure efficiency and sustainability. The role requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain processes.
Job Details
Title: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Alternative Heat Head Office, Banbridge
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 3pm
Salary: Competitive depending on experience
Responsible to: Head of Procurement
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and service levels
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions
- Collaborate with suppliers & manufacturers to ensure a smooth supply flow
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards (KPIs)
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and sustainability initiatives
- Plan and execute strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Ensure timely purchasing and delivery of materials to meet project schedules
- Coordinate with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
- Conduct supplier factory visits to audit performance and quality
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential Criteria
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics
- Experience in strategic planning, systems analysis, and supply chain evaluation
- Experience in procurement and vendor management
- Ability to manage multiple supply chain partners
- Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
- Deep understanding of risk management in supply chains
- Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle SCM, ERP systems)
Desirable Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) - APICS
- Experience in M&E / manufacturing sector
