Job summary

A leading FMCG food manufacturer in South Wales is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee logistics and storage operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food or consumer goods, with proven leadership in team development and a focus on continuous improvement and safety. This role requires effective budget management and compliance with BRC standards, ensuring high customer service levels.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food or consumer goods manufacturing/distribution sector.
  • Proven experience in developing and mentoring high performing teams.
  • Ability to identify cost optimisation opportunities with 3rd party suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Supply Chain function to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee all logistics and storage operations.
  • Provide OTIF information to departments and ensure targets are met.
  • Manage the supply chain budget closely with Head of Operations.
  • Liaise with contractors for compliance.
  • Manage pallet process and optimise costs.
  • Conduct appraisals and reviews with the team.
  • Promote health and safety through hazard reporting.

Job description

A leading FMCG food manufacturer in South Wales is now seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead the logistics, distribution and storage operations for the business.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing and developing all aspects of the supply chain function to ensure customer service is maintained at all times.

The successful Supply Chain Manager will ideally have previous experience within the food or consumer goods manufacturing / distribution sector. You will be a strong people manager with proven experience of developing and mentoring high performing teams. You will have previous experience in driving continuous improvement and health & safety initiatives in your area of responsibility and will have the ability to develop, review and identify cost optimisation opportunities with 3rd party suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Supply Chain function to ensure BRC and financial audit compliance
  • Manage all third-party logistics and storage operations
  • Provide OTIF information to departments and ensure customer OTIF targets are met.
  • Oversee the supply chain budget, working closely with Head of Operations and finance
  • Liaise with third party contractors to ensure compliance at all times
  • Manage the pallet process and optimise costs
  • Management of team through appraisals and regular documented reviews
  • Drive a safer place to work through hazard reporting across the team and site , making it a safer place to work
