Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of supply chain strategies across bids and live energy infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with bid, commercial, operational and project teams to ensure the right supply chain is in place to deliver safe, high-quality and commercially robust projects, with emphasis on procurement strategy, supplier relationships and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent)
  • CIPS qualification – preferred
  • Strong financial and commercial analysis skills with the ability to interpret and report procurement data
  • Extensive market knowledge of major infrastructure and building packages and key subcontractors
  • Sound understanding of subcontract procurement, forms of contract and commercial negotiation
  • Proven ability to identify supply chain risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain supply chain strategies aligned to Morgan Sindall supply chain vision.
  • Implement strategic initiatives that support bid and project delivery objectives.
  • Lead best-practice sharing across Morgan Sindall.
  • Support bid teams during pre-qualification, pre-bid and tender stages.
  • Develop and oversee tender procurement strategies and market approaches.
  • Assess supply chain risk and opportunity and report on market responses.
  • Oversee supply chain pricing and conditioning for commercial robustness.
  • Contribute to tender procurement summaries and better buying initiatives.
  • Support project commercial teams with procurement strategies.
  • Maintain oversight of procurement spend and supply chain performance on live projects.
  • Assist with drafting, negotiating and agreeing subcontract documentation.
  • Support development of procurement control and financial reporting.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors and lead SRM processes.
  • Lead quarterly performance reviews and supply chain forums.

Job description

As Supply Chain Manager, you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of supply chain strategies across bids and live projects. You will work closely with bid, commercial, operational and project teams to ensure the right supply chain is in place to deliver safe, high-quality, commercially robust energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and maintain business unit and project-specific supply chain strategies aligned to the Morgan Sindall supply chain vision
  • Implement strategic initiatives that support work-winning and project delivery objectives
  • Actively identify and challenge non–value-adding practices both internally and within the supply chain
  • Take a lead role in identifying and sharing best practice across the wider Morgan Sindall business
Work Winning & Bid Support
  • Support bid teams during pre-qualification, pre-bid and tender stages to ensure the optimum supply chain is engaged
  • Develop and oversee tender procurement strategies, identifying critical work packages and optimal market approaches
  • Assess supply chain risk and opportunity, reporting on market responses, pricing strategy, fixed price allowances and scope optimisation
  • Oversee supply chain pricing, evaluation and conditioning to ensure commercial robustness
  • Contribute to tender procurement summaries, including better buying initiatives
Project Delivery Support
  • Support project commercial teams in developing and implementing effective project procurement strategies
  • Maintain oversight (\"watching brief\") of procurement spend and supply chain performance on live projects
  • Support project handover ensuring site teams receive clear, complete and timely supply chain information
  • Assist commercial teams with drafting, negotiating and agreeing subcontract documentation, engaging specialist legal and technical advice where required
  • Support the development of procurement control and financial reporting
Supplier Relationship Management & Performance
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors
  • Implement robust supplier relationship management (SRM) processes and systems
  • Lead quarterly performance reviews, supply chain forums and 360-degree feedback processes
  • Drive continuous improvement programmes with suppliers to enhance performance, value and delivery certainty
Risk, Compliance & Governance
  • Identify, assess and manage commercial, ethical, reputational and operational procurement risks
  • Ensure compliance with Morgan Sindall policies, sustainable procurement strategy, safety code for subcontractors and governance requirements
  • Monitor supply chain resource availability and identify potential capability or capacity shortfalls
Qualifications & Technical Knowledge
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) qualification – preferred
  • Strong financial and commercial analysis skills with the ability to interpret and report procurement data
  • Extensive market knowledge of major infrastructure and building packages and key subcontractors
  • Sound understanding of subcontract procurement, forms of contract and commercial negotiation
  • Proven ability to identify supply chain risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies
