Job summary

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are seeking a senior Supply Chain Manager for their Darley Dale operation. You will lead the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory and compliance, reporting to the site leadership team.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and deep experience with ERP systems and supplier management to optimise operations in a multi-site manufacturing context.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the Supply Chain and Logistics department to keep performance high.
• Develop and implement a robust supply chain strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier partnerships for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee procurement, logistics, inventory management and compliance; apply lean principles.
• Develop risk management and contingency plans for continuity.
• Lead and develop the supply chain team and collaborate with Production, Quality, Technical, Finance and Commercial.
• Forecast demand with other departments and manage the budget; report performance to senior management.
• Future-proof the supply chain to support increasing order volumes.
• Integrate new areas (despatch, production control) and standardize reporting metrics.

Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be partnered with an International metals manufacturing group, with the search & selection of a new Supply Chain Manager, for their Darley Dale manufacturing operation.

The Supply Chain Manager, Darley Dale is responsible for leading the supply chain operations and ensuring strategic alignment with company goals. This is a senior role, sitting as part of the Site Leadership team, and plays a critical role shaping the supply chain strategy, optimising processes, and ensuring the seamless delivery of raw materials and finished products. A background and experience of sourcing metal from international steel mills would be highly advantageous.

Key Objectives of the Role

• Take overall responsibility for the Supply Chain and Logistics department, to ensure the team is performing at a high level.
• Develop and implement a robust supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives and industry demands. Analyse market trends and adapt strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Manage supplier performance against agreed scorecard metrics and standards and producing standardised reports for the senior managers.
• Oversee all aspects of supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and compliance. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop risk management strategies to handle supply chain vulnerabilities. Prepare contingency plans to ensure business continuity in case of supply chain disruptions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
• Collaborate closely with the Production, Quality, Technical, Finance and Commercial departments to forecast demand and ensure product availability.
• Prepare and manage the supply chain budget. Monitor and report on supply chain performance metrics to senior management.
• To future proof the supply chain function to ensure the capability to support an increasing orderbook.
• Integrating areas of the business that are new to the supply chain department (despatch team and production controller) and producing standard metrics for reporting in these areas.
