Job summary

Cummins is hosting a Supply Chain Logistics Placement Student in Daventry, UK for a Summer 2027 start. The role provides exposure to a major global organization and hands-on analytics experience within our Logistics team for the Corporate/CBS Segment.

Applicants must be eligible for a placement year and will gain knowledge across analytics, KPI interpretation, reporting, and operational shipment management in a real-world setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain or Humanities.
• Strong IT skills with Excel and PowerPoint; Access, Visio and Power BI are beneficial.
• Ability to understand data, problem solve and think innovatively.
• Team player with clear communication and workload management.

Responsibilities

• Develop supply chain analytics to reveal operation performance and trends.
• Analyze and interpret KPIs to identify improvements.
• Use existing systems to provide repeatable analytics and reporting.
• Perform financial reporting and track spend and project savings.
• Measure carrier performance using KPIs and scorecards.
• Manage operational shipments through pricing and booking processes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Supply Chain Logistics Placement Student to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Corporate/CBS Segment in Daventry, UK. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2027.

External Qualifications and Competencies

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Development of Supply Chain analytics to make operation performance and trends visible.


• Analysis and interpretation of KPIs to identify areas for improvement and action plans.


• The use of existing business systems to provide analytics and reporting that are capable and repeatable.


• Financial reporting and tracking of spend and project savings.


• Measurement of carrier performance using KPIs and assessment scorecards.


• Operational shipment management through pricing and booking process.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Studying towards a Business/Economics/Finance/Supply Chain/Humanities degree.


• Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel and PowerPoint (Access, Visio, and Power BI beneficial but not essential).


• Ability to understand data, problem solve and think innovatively.


• Team player and ability to manage workload effectively; clear communication skills.
