Job summary

Green & Wolvin Recruitment is recruiting a Supply Chain Co‑Ordinator for our Nottingham area client. The role sits in the Procurement & Supply Chain team, with hybrid working in Nottingham and responsibilities spanning international sourcing, supplier management and commodity purchasing.

You will report to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager and contribute to import/export logistics, market analysis and supplier performance, fostering cost-effective and compliant supply chains.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or Buying within the commodities or food industry.
• Experience pricing & planning air, ocean or road freight within a freight forwarding or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of shipping INCOTerms is extremely advantageous.
• Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management (CIPS) would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial sourcing, purchasing and worldwide logistics & distribution of raw commodities from international suppliers.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee export and import shipments across INCOTerms.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, cost fluctuations and supplier opportunities.
• Assist with supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management.
• Coordinate import/export shipping schedules and customs documentation with logistics, finance and quality teams.
• Maintain records of purchase orders, contracts and supplier data in ERP systems.
• Monitor commodity prices, exchange rates and global market developments to aid sourcing decisions.
• Support senior buyers in developing procurement strategies for assigned commodity categories.
• Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing, sustainability and corporate responsibility standards.

My client is a well‑established and growing business with an annual turnover of approximately £175 million, specialising in the sourcing and supply of raw commodities from global markets. With an extensive international supplier network, the company imports key materials from regions across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, ensuring a reliable and sustainable supply chain for its customers. You will join a close‑knit team who play a key role in supporting the procurement of raw commodities—sourced from suppliers across the globe—ensuring continuity of supply, cost‑effectiveness, and quality in line with company standards.

Job Description

As a Supply Chain Co‑Ordinator you will report into the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Nottinghamshire office:

• Support the commercial sourcing, purchasing and worldwide logistics & distribution of raw commodities (e.g. agricultural, food, or commodity oils) from international suppliers.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee export and import shipments with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport providers. Ensuring cargo is booked, loaded, and shipped according to customer and business requirements across a variety of different INCOTerms.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, cost fluctuations, and new supplier opportunities.
• Assist with supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management to ensure reliability and quality.
• Work closely with logistics, finance, and quality teams to coordinate import, export and shipping schedules, shipping documentation, and customs compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier data within our ERP systems.
• Monitor commodity prices, exchange rates, and global market developments to support strategic sourcing decisions.
• Support senior buyers in developing and implementing procurement strategies for assigned commodity categories.
• Ensure compliance with all ethical sourcing, sustainability, and corporate responsibility standards.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience within the procurement market for commodities. The Supply Chain Co‑Ordinator will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ years' experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or Buying within the commodities or food industry, specifically dealing with commodities manufacturers or agricultural producers.
• Experience of pricing & planning air, ocean or road freight within a freight forwarding or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of the food, ingredients and commodity categories would be advantageous.
• Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills
• Ability to identify and evaluate suppliers based on requirements, price, quality, speed and service.
• Commutable to Nottinghamshire on a hybrid basis.
• Knowledge of shipping through various INCOTerms is extremely advantageous.
• Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management (CIPS) would be advantageous, but not essential.
