Overview

PERM - Fabulous opportunity to join a prestigious defence client as a Supply Chain/Buyer/Procurement (Buyer background). Good excel skills to assist the Supply Chain Manager and joining a small team. Must be eligible for SC clearance. Location: New Malden Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey. Salary up to 58,000 plus benefits and compressed hours.

You will be involved in preparing cost reports alongside supplying chain managers. You may have assisted supply managers or been involved as a Buyer, Procurement or similar role; this may be suitable for mid-level candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Providing senior supply chain support to the programmes through supporting identification of suitable suppliers for 3rd party programme items and services.
  • Supporting the shaping and strategy of negotiation and tendering practices to supply chain teams within the operating unit.
  • Ensuring that the ecosystem is healthy and supports programme delivery within your operating unit.
  • Accountable for meeting programme schedule and budget commitments through supplier management, including identification of suitable suppliers for 3rd party items and services.
  • Leading competitive exercises to maintain on-time delivery to the programme at best value.
  • Negotiation and implementation of agreements with appropriate customer flow-downs.
  • Proactively maintaining positive and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
  • Managing supplier price and availability, including alternative sources, in line with programme needs.
  • Monitoring and managing obsolescence and other supply issues, providing status updates and reports as requested.
  • Highlighting and/or escalating, in a timely fashion, any supplier delinquency that affects the programme delivery schedule.
  • Ensuring supplier performance measurement activities are maintained through good practice, including aligning suppliers to the Supplier Management Processes.
  • Working with Mission Assurance and others to monitor supplier performance factors, such as OTIF, quality, risk opportunity, management and values.
