Job summary

An international humanitarian organization based in the UK is seeking a Procurement and Asset Management officer. The role entails procurement support, fleet and asset management, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree and have at least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in the humanitarian sector. This full-time position requires fluency in English and a willingness to travel to remote areas.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement tasks aligned with organizational needs.
  • Manage fleet functions according to IRW policies.

  • Warehouse management support: inventory, storage, releases, counts, disposal per donor requirements.
  • Administrative tasks per policy: travel/accommodation and related matters.
  • Compliance & reporting: compile reporters and trackers; submit analyses and improvement actions.
  • Regular visits to project sites and IT/document uploads to Shared Folders.

Overview

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) seeks a knowledgeable professional to support procurement, fleet, assets, warehouse, administration, compliance & reporting, and related tasks in accordance with IRW policies, procedures and donor compliance requirements. The role involves participating in procurement transactions, fleet and asset management, warehouse and premises management, administrative support, and ensuring proper reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Support in ensuring procurement tasks are executed efficiently and aligned with organizational needs and donor compliance requirements. This includes preparing quotations, contracts, POs, payments, screening, and all related procurement matters.
  • Fleet Management: Support in managing fleet functions efficiently and in accordance with IRW policies and donor compliance requirements. This includes planning, operational movements, monitoring fuel consumption, resource utilization, contracting, managing drivers, vehicle maintenance, and related tasks.
  • Assets Management: Support in managing assets efficiently per IRW policies and donor compliance requirements, including tagging, tracking, disposing, planning, and related tasks.
  • Warehouse Management: Support in inventory management, storing, releasing, physical counts, tracking, disposing, and other related tasks in line with IRW policies and donor requirements.
  • Administration: Support admin tasks per IRW policies, including accommodation and travel requirements and related matters.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Compile reporters and trackers for each SC function; submit reports to the supply chain officer with analysis, bottleneck identification, and improvement action plans; perform other reporting tasks as requested by line management.
  • Other Tasks: Conduct regular visits to project implementation sites and programmatic sites; perform supply chain, admin and IT tasks as requested; ensure IRW procedures for uploading documents and reports to Shared Folders.
Education & Experience

Education: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or a related technical field.

Experience: 1+ years of progressive and relevant experience in a related field; understanding of development and humanitarian work is an advantage; experience with humanitarian organizations is an advantage.

Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel to remote or conflict-affected areas; familiarity with local laws and regulations and excellent communication skills.

Language: Fluency in English is required.
