The South Western Ambulance Service Trust in Exeter is seeking a Supply and Delivery Operative to support site and station stock management. You will process orders, issue stock, and maintain accurate records while ensuring safe, confidential handling of goods in transit.
You will prepare and deliver items across Trust locations, including medicines and equipment, plan practical routes, and keep vehicle and journey records up to date.
There has never been a better time to join the Trust's Supply and Delivery Service as a Supply and Delivery Operative. We have just introduced a new scanning system to manage the consumables both on site and out at station, so crews don't need to spend time ordering stocks from us. This is now done by us against agreed min/max stock levels., Working as part of the Supply and Delivery team, you will help ensure Trust sites receive the supplies and equipment they need to operate effectively. This includes processing orders, checking deliveries, issuing stock and keeping inventory records accurate and up to date. You will also support stocktakes and reconciliations, investigating any differences and helping the team maintain an efficient and cost-effective approach to stockholding and distribution. A key part of the role involves preparing and delivering goods across Trust locations and ambulance stations. Deliveries may range from medical supplies and medicines to post, patient clinical records and sensitive IT or communications equipment. You will plan practical routes, complete the necessary vehicle and journey records, and take responsibility for keeping all items safe, secure and confidential while in transit. Where appropriately authorised, you may also collect, handle and distribute Morphine Sulphate, as well as support the safe disposal and recording of out-of-date medicines in line with legal and Trust requirements. Alongside these responsibilities, you will respond to enquiries, assist with project work and help maintain the delivery vehicle. You will provide cover for the Supply and Delivery Controller when required, ensuring the service continues to run smoothly.
