Job description

We are looking for a Materials Manager to join our Supply Chain team at Leeds Nuffield Hospital. As a leader within your team, you will serve as the key liaison between the Central supply chain and hospital leadership, ensuring effective communication both internally and across departments. You will also support the development of individuals and the team, enhancing their knowledge and skills.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Leading, motivating, supervising, and training the Materials department team.
  2. Ensuring the procurement of goods and services meets hospital requirements, aligned with Nuffield Health's policies and procedures.
  3. Developing the department with accountability for cost management and the timely provision of management information.
  4. Acting as the primary point of contact for Supply Chain at the site.
  5. Achieving Supply Chain objectives such as target inventory levels and compliance.
  6. Ensuring best practices in inventory management, including conducting and recording stock counts according to policy.
  7. Implementing cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
  8. Participating in business processes, projects, or initiatives impacting or impacted by the department.
  9. Collaborating with other departments to discuss changes due to clinical or supply chain developments.
  10. Expanding line management responsibilities to support hospital roles related to supply functions.
