Job summary

Caterpillar Peterlee is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer in the non-metallics category to drive quality, performance and continuous improvement with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You will assess manufacturing processes, support robust quality controls, conduct supplier assessments and audits, and help raise supplier excellence across the site. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Strong knowledge of supplier quality processes is valued.
• Capable of working with cross-functional teams to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the quality of supplies by testing and evaluating incoming materials.
• Generating supplier quality reports and guiding defect reduction.
• Researching potential vendors and conducting supplier quality audits for compliance.
• Supporting suppliers with process improvements and QA plans.
