Supplier Quality Engineer - Sporting Goods - Oxford, CT, Weybridge

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer include:

  • Leading supplier quality activities across development projects, quality improvements, and ongoing supplier performance.
  • Owning supplier PPAP processes, including documentation and on-site verification.
  • Implementing and auditing against ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and IATF 16949:2016 standards.
  • Analyzing supplier returns and driving corrective actions and design improvements.
  • Conducting sustainability and quality audits for both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Supporting supplier development through training, inspection systems, and process optimization.
  • Acting as the critical link between suppliers and Thule manufacturing operations to ensure consistent quality delivery.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5-7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO, IATF, and VDA standards, SPC/SQC tools, and quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, IMDS, PPAP, and auditing processes.
  • Skilled in problem-solving using Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with ERP systems like M3 is a plus.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and passionate about continuous improvement and quality excellence.
