Job description

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team; our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.

Job Description

Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) is a powerhouse of innovation continually working on some of the most ground-breaking projects across land, sea and air. Our portfolio of projects is second to none. It is not just our ground-breaking RB17 Hypercar or Red Bull commissioned submarine; we work alongside the KTM Moto GP Team and collaborate with Alinghi Red Bull Racing in their Americas Cup campaign, utilising Formula One expertise and precision to enhance the AC75 Racing Yacht and revolutionise Moto GP Aerodynamics.

Red Bull Advanced Technologies are constantly elevating performance to new heights, and the recently announced RB17 two-seat Hypercar is set to be the ultimate on-track driving experience, pushing design and technical boundaries far beyond what has previously been imagined. We now have an exciting opportunity to be part of our expanding supply chain operations.

This 12-month Fixed Term Contract is a fantastic opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer who is committed to providing quality engineer support services for RBAT, as well as supporting the Manufacturing, Assembly and Quality teams to understand and reduce their risks.

The role:

  1. Create, manage & publish Quality Standard Operating Procedures with implementation guidelines for all Quality functions.
  2. Create, manage, & publish the Standards documents which accompany the process procedures that complement the Quality Assurance working practice.
  3. Establish, uphold & promote the Quality standards & principles in engineering and manufacturing processes.
  4. Develop Quality control systems with a decisive corrective actions process.
  5. Lead the planning, development, and implementation of Quality management systems (QMS).
  6. Develop a strong working relationship with the Supplier Quality Engineer, ensuring that our suppliers understand and confirm the Quality requirements to deliver parts right first time, assured to ensure an efficient controlled transition in the business and into stock.
  7. Lead & facilitate Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA’s) against all relevant projects.
  8. Contribute to the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), validating the Quality Engineering phases to approve Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/A).

To be considered for this position, you will:

  1. Demonstrable experience in a similar Quality role within the manufacturing and/or Assembly production industry.
  2. Strong performance Composite & Mechanical background.
  3. Ability to communicate concisely to all levels, both internally and externally facing.
  4. Knowledge and experience in the deployment and use of SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R and FMEA’s.
  5. Good understanding of Metrology principles and measurement techniques/equipment including GD&T.

Not only is this a fantastic role, but it is also a fantastic team to work for. A good salary is just the start; there are many other benefits too, such as our bonus scheme, private health care cover, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery, company-contributed pension scheme, on-site gym & fitness classes, free food, and a cycle to work scheme.
