Job summary

Thorlabs Supplier Quality Engineer role at our Ely facility aims to lead supplier audits, assess risks, and drive corrective actions with suppliers. You will collaborate with Quality, Purchasing and Engineering to reduce waste and improve on-time delivery.

The position requires a degree in Manufacturing/Process/Quality Engineering and at least 3 years in supplier quality, with Lean, PFMEA/APQP experience and ability to interpret precision drawings.

Qualifications

Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or Quality Engineering.
3+ years in an equivalent Supplier Quality Engineering role.

Responsibilities

Lead supplier audits and present risk assessments.
Support on-site supplier visits and raise/validate corrective actions.
Collaborate with Quality, Purchasing and Engineering functions.
Drive reduction of waste and defect prevention across the supply chain.
Apply Lean, Six-Sigma, PFMEA and APQP/PPAP tools to improve supplier performance.
Interpret high-precision drawings and assess tolerances.
Monitor supplier quality data and identify process improvements.
