Job summary

A talent management consultancy is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a 12-month rolling contract in West Midlands. This role involves engaging with suppliers, analyzing data, and ensuring quality standards. Candidates should possess technical training in quality or engineering, have experience in Supplier Quality Management and manufacturing processes. The position requires in-office presence for at least 3 days a week and occasional travel to suppliers. Strong project management skills and familiarity with quality improvement tools are preferred.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer on a 12 month rolling contract based in West Midlands.

Role Summary

As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.

Requirements
  • Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects
  • Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
  • Experience working with or at manufacturing facilities
  • Experience working with critical parts (Complex parts such as disc, shaft, complex assemblies)
Preferred
  • Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • SAP experience.
Working Requirements
  • In office presence – 3 days min per week
  • No legal travel regulations
  • Travel to suppliers up to 50%
