Job description

Are you an experienced quality professional with a passion for the marine industry? A leader in innovative clean marine technology is seeking a highly motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an excellent chance to contribute to groundbreaking environmental solutions and support rapid growth across the maritime sector.

Location: London or Southampton

Salary: Up to £45,000

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will ensure that supplied products meet high standards and customer requirements. Your expertise will support supplier compliance, oversee quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

Role responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer include:

  1. Support suppliers in adhering to the organisation's quality standards and contractual requirements
  2. Lead problem resolution processes and manage non-conformance issues
  3. Contain undeclared non-conformances across the supply chain, transit, and customer sites
  4. Witness inspections and manage Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at supplier facilities
  5. Conduct supplier process audits to ensure robust manufacturing and measurement methods
  6. Assist in the selection and assessment of new suppliers' capabilities
  7. Analyse supplier performance data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Person Specification:

  • Experience in the marine industry, with knowledge of shipyards and hull structures
  • Familiarity with dealing with Classification Societies
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and marine mechanical equipment; electrical automation experience is a plus
  • Understanding of inspection, quality control, and basic quality improvement tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Europe

Salary: Up to £45,000 - Travel expensed

X1 day per week working from home

This role will be well suited to you if you have held a role as a Supplier Quality Engineer, Supplier Development Engineer, Supplier Quality Specialist, Supplier Quality Analyst, Supplier Quality Coordinator, Supplier Performance Engineer, or Supplier Quality Lead.
