Role Overview

Following continued business growth and increasing demand, they are expanding their quality function with the addition of a Supplier Quality Engineer — a key role working at the heart of supplier development and performance improvement.

Responsibilities
  1. Drive supplier development initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure a world-class supply chain supporting manufacturing excellence.
  2. Lead supplier audits in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
  3. Support new supplier development aligned with strategic business goals.
  4. Drive continuous improvement using Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards, and data analysis.
  5. Manage supplier corrective actions, APQP, and PPAP activities.
  6. Liaise with internal teams (Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing) and external suppliers.
  7. Track and analyze supplier performance, report metrics, and drive sustainable improvements.
  8. Provide technical guidance and leadership to improve supplier processes and capabilities.
  9. Support the introduction of new products and the enhancement of manufacturing and design processes.
  10. Review and implement new procedures, ensuring alignment with operational excellence initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven background in Quality within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience of supplier performance management or continuous improvement.
  • Experience with quality tools and methodologies.
  • Auditing experience - 9001, 14001, 45001.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
