Job summary

Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology in Oxfordshire is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to influence quality across the supply chain and manufacturing operations. You will lead investigations, support corrective actions, and identify opportunities to strengthen quality performance.

You will work with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve challenges and drive improvements, using structured reviews, data analysis, and established quality methods.

Qualifications

About The Role

This is a hands-on and collaborative opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with relationship building.

You will help ensure the quality of products and processes across our supply chain and manufacturing operations. Working closely with suppliers and colleagues in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing, you will lead investigations, support effective corrective action, and identify opportunities to strengthen quality performance.

You will be empowered to use insight, evidence, and recognised quality methods to reduce issues, manage risk, and support continuous improvement. The role offers variety across supplier engagement, manufacturing support, auditing, compliance, and data analysis, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience while making a meaningful contribution to our business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building constructive relationships with suppliers and helping them improve quality performance through structured reviews, clear measures, and agreed improvement plans.
• Managing supplier non-conformances and coordinating proportionate, sustainable corrective actions.
• Reviewing supplier containment activity, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action plans to ensure they address the underlying issue.
• Supporting supplier qualification, approval, performance monitoring, and change-management activities.
• Partnering with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve challenges and improve supplier quality.
• Providing practical day-to-day quality support to manufacturing and shop-floor colleagues.
• Leading containment and root-cause investigations using methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and CAPA.
• Supporting concession, deviation, and non-conformance processes in line with company procedures.
• Planning, conducting, and reporting supplier audits, while also contributing to internal audits and compliance assessments.
• Verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions arising from audits and investigations.
• Identifying risks and improvement opportunities across supplier and internal manufacturing processes.
• Monitoring quality indicators and analysing trends to uncover recurring concerns, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Creating clear reports and dashboards that make supplier and manufacturing quality performance visible.
• Sharing findings and practical recommendations with management and cross-functional colleagues.
• Supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of our Quality Management System.
• Encouraging a positive culture in which quality, compliance, shared learning, and continuous improvement are part of everyday work.

What Skills And Experience You'll Bring

You will ideally bring:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Assurance, or a closely related role.
• Practical experience of investigating root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Experience working directly with suppliers and resolving supplier quality concerns.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 principles and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate evidence into practical action.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Clear and thoughtful communication skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively across different teams and stakeholder groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using tools to analyse and communicate quality data.

It would also be helpful if you have one or more of the following:

• An ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement approaches.
• Experience with SAP, Teamcenter, Power BI, or comparable business systems.
• An understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, ISIR, or supplier-development methodologies.

Above all, you will bring a considered, curious, and improvement-focused approach. You will be comfortable asking constructive questions, listening to other perspectives, and taking ownership of issues through to effective resolution.
