Supplier Quality Engineer required for a Global Automotive Manufacturer to carry out effective Quality management of suppliers, including:

1. Measure, monitor, control, and communicate supplier performance.
2. Manage quality from cradle to grave.
3. Deal with non-conforming products and conduct root cause analysis using tools like 8D.
4. Approve new suppliers using quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
5. Drive continual supplier development for improvement and cost efficiency.
6. Be conversant with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
7. Conduct external and internal audits, preferably VDA 6.3 & VDA 6.5.
8. Willingness to travel regularly to suppliers in the UK and overseas.

You will have:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• Qualifications or experience in Supplier Quality Assurance.
• Experience with problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5Y.
• Experience managing suppliers in an automotive environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing fluid transfer components (e.g., turned products, brazing, plating, tubing, rubber hoses) is preferable.
• Experience with APQP including FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plans.
• Strong background in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Lead auditor training is preferable.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
