Position Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Reports To: Quality Engineering Lead

Location: Droitwich

Travel: Approx. 60% (UK & occasional European travel required)

About the Role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be the key link between manufacturing teams and supply chain, leading supplier audits, ensuring quality compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance. This strategic role impacts product integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational success worldwide.

Responsibilities include:

1. Conducting supplier audits and qualification assessments against ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and PED standards.
2. Leading onboarding and ongoing qualification of suppliers.
3. Resolving supplier issues through root cause analysis and methodologies like 8D.
4. Collaborating with Procurement, Engineering, and Production to maintain quality standards.
5. Reviewing technical documentation and supporting validation processes such as PPAP and FAIR.
6. Promoting lean manufacturing, defect reduction, and first-time-right practices.

Required qualifications and skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or related field.
2. Experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role within manufacturing or engineered products.
3. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and PED compliance standards.
4. Understanding of welding, machining, assembly, and inspection methods.
5. Certified Lead or Internal Auditor (IRCA or equivalent).
6. Proficiency with quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, etc.
7. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
8. UK driving license and willingness to travel approximately 60%.
