Job summary

Jelly Technical in Manchester is seeking a Supplier Quality & Compliance Specialist for a 9-month FTC. The role combines supplier approval, quality control frameworks, and incident resolution within a hybrid setup (2 days in office, 3 days WFH).

You will oversee traceability, recalls readiness, and cross-functional supplier reviews with a focus on food safety and quality across global suppliers. IT literacy and HACCP knowledge are preferred.

Responsibilities

Supplier Quality & Compliance Specialist

Manchester*

Monday to Friday days (Full-Time | 9 Month FTC)

Hybrid - 2 days office based/ 3 days WFH

Up to £35,000 pro-rata + Benefits Package

The Role

• Supplier Approval: Lead the supplier approval process in full, from risk assessments to reviewing flows. Work closely with global suppliers to meet quality and compliance standards, onboard new partners and roll out the corporate Quality Management System.
• Quality Control Frameworks: Create, embed and oversee a robust Quality Control test program. Regularly review supplier testing and control methods, maintaining the established VACCP and Horizon Scanning systems.
• Complaints & Non-Conformance: Oversee the investigation of consumer complaints and non-conformances. Create feedback frameworks for suppliers, ensuring thorough issue resolution and rigorous follow-up.
• Traceability & Recalls: Own the annual mock product recall procedure, ensuring all documentation is faultless and factory traceability processes align perfectly with corporate requirements.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Lead supplier reviews covering Food Safety and Quality areas. Build strong relationships across multiple departments to track actions to completion and provide regular progress updates to senior leadership.

About You

• Industry Experience: Established career, working within a Quality or Technical function inside the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
• Auditing & Systems: Proven experience building or managing Quality Management Systems alongside practical experience and qualifications in Third-Party Auditing.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of supplier approval processes, global quality standards (BRCGS, HACCP, etc.) and managing complaints/NCR close-outs.
• Core Skills: IT literate (particularly Excel and Word) combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Communication: An exceptional relationship builder with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external global suppliers.
• Qualifications (Desirable): Ideally educated to degree level in a scientific discipline, holding a HACCP qualification or formal Third-Party Auditor training.
