About the team and the role

Data & Insight

Data & insight are central to the Ocado retail grocery team, supporting various functions from advising on promotions and product ranges to understanding customer shopping behavior and building models for loyalty schemes and marketing campaigns. We provide regular training on tools such as visualisation, presentation skills, SQL, VBA, and more.

Retail Insight

Retail insight plays a vital role in advising on promotions, product ranges, and understanding customer purchasing habits. Our analysts develop expertise and are trained in key tools like visualisation, SQL, VBA, etc.

Role Summary

Are you numerate, passionate about consumer motivations, and commercially savvy? Can you analyze data and communicate insights clearly? Do you manage multiple stakeholders effectively? As a Supplier Insight Analyst, you will collaborate with one of our largest suppliers to understand customer behavior, analyze data, and make strategic recommendations.

Accountabilities

• Extract, manipulate, and analyze data to inform decision-making.
• Summarize analysis and its commercial implications for senior management.
• Write SQL code to extract data from Oracle and BigQuery databases.
• Engage with external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external trading teams to drive growth.

Who you are

• Numerate with retail or FMCG experience.
• Commercially aware with problem-solving skills.
• Curious about customer motivations and behavior.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent Excel and SQL skills.
• Degree in a technical or numerate subject (2:1 or above), with Mathematics A Level or equivalent.
• Tableau experience is a plus.
